Press Kit
BubbleSpots is a free, parent-built app for discovering kid-friendly spots: playgrounds, museums, swimming spots, and hidden gems, shared by real families.
Origin story
Bubbles was born in Tanzania, into a family that had just moved to Dodoma: a growing city, but still relatively quiet. Upon arrival, they quickly realised there was very little to find for kids, that Google Maps barely helped, and that reviews and tips from other parents were nowhere to be found.
What they really needed was a community. One that helps families find the best activities for kids, and maybe also where to skip 😉
So they thought: wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a community-driven app filled with fun spots and hidden gems for kids all over the world?
With Dad being a software developer and Mom loving creative projects, Bubbles soon came to life. And of course, he was named by the kids.
Bubbles is happy to be here, and excited for this family to grow. All across the globe.

We built BubbleSpots because we couldn't find one reliable place that told us where to take our kids. Google Maps is too general: it shows everything, but not what's actually fun for children. Other apps we tried either didn't work well enough or cost money. Outside the West, Google Maps is used a lot less, and that's exactly where you notice how much a community of parents sharing places with each other can mean.
About the founders
BubbleSpots was founded by a Dutch couple, after finding it hard to discover kid-friendly places during a stay in Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania. Dad is a software developer and knows what it takes to build a well-functioning app. Together, as parents, they both knew exactly what was needed to find fun places for their kids. The community-driven approach was partly inspired by Park4Night, an app the family often uses while campervanning to find unique spots out in nature. What started as a personal list of favourite spots is now growing into a community app, where families in the Netherlands and beyond can add their own favourite spots.
