Dodoma is the capital of Tanzania, and it is growing fast. It is not the most touristic city in the country, but new places keep popping up as it grows. We had a hard time finding things to do here at first, but slowly found more and more spots. The town itself is friendly and feels like typical Tanzania. Here are our favourites.
Walking Trail A great walk up the satellite hill for spectacular views of the city of Dodoma. You can walk up and back down, or take the long way down(see pictures). That will require some stamina(8+). Probably 1-2 hour hike if you take the long way.
Play Area A playground with trampoline, bouncy castles and swings. They sell some drinks, ice cream and some small toys. Entrance is paid.

Food & Beverage The famous Collina restaurant. Decent food, relatively fast service. Nice seating and there is a small playground. Good coffee.
Food & Beverage Great local restaurant and bar with a small playground. Good local food.
Swimming A big swimming pool. Also a small kids pool. Behind there is a playground as well. Also have drinks.

Swimming A recently renovated pool (jan 2026) . Quite big and nicely maintained. Price was 5k-10k for kids/parents.
Food & Beverage A great place in Dodoma. Pizza and other Italian dishes. And to boot a nice playground and a 12 holes minigolf course! Always a pleasure to be there.
